Be a “ Critter Tipster”!
Blow the whistle on animal abuse—and be eligible for a reward!
In partnership with the county Department of Animal Care and Regulation (AC&R), TEAM has initiated a program to reward those who “blow the whistle” on animal abuse and neglect in our community.
It’s called “Critter Tip.”
Through the “Critter Tip” program, TEAM will pay up to $500 to the first person who alerts county AC&R when animals are abused, neglected, or put in life-threatening situations that:
a) result in animal injury or death;
b) cause animals to be confiscated by AC&R;
c) involve a combination, or all, of the above.
Animal cruelty cases must be referred to the District Attorney’s Office to be eligible for the “Critter Tip” program, and TEAM will work with AC&R staff to evaluate reward candidates on a case-by-case basis. Rewards will be paid when formal charges are filed by the District Attorney. Tipsters can choose to remain anonymous.
“This is about giving a little more incentive for people to report abuse and neglect when they see it,” says Pat Claerbout, shelter director. “And, to help spread the word that we need the community's help.”
Help protect the health and safety of the animals in our community by being alert and getting involved!
NOTE: All reports of animal abuse/neglect should be made immediately to the Sacramento County Department of Animal Care and Regulation at 916-368-7387.
Donations to support TEAM’s “Critter Tip” program are appreciated and may be mailed to TEAM, 4290 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento, CA 95827 ATT: Patricia Wilcox. Please note “Critter Tip” on the check. Thank you.
