Calling All Kids!
If you’re looking for a way to help shelter animals this summer, and earn community service hours too, we’ve got some fun ideas for you. Here are just a few of them:
Start a recycling program. Collect bottles and cans at school and at sporting events to raise funds to help
support shelter programs
~
Make cat toys from unused socks and yarn
~
Stuff Kong toys with peanut butter and treats to help
the dogs fight boredom and cage stress
~
Collect and bundle newspapers for habitat
rooms and cages
~
Start a pet food collection drive for the animals at the shelter - and for the Pet Pantry serving the pets of needy people
in the community
~
Collect day-old produce (carrots, lettuce, apples) from the supermarkets for the horses, rabbits and other livestock
at the shelter
Contributions may be dropped off at the shelter, located at 3839 Bradshaw Road, near Highway 50, from 12:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday
Monetary contributions may be made payable to
TEAM – Teaching Everyone Animals Matter – and are
tax-deductible.
The animals will appreciate your help. Thank you!
